Making a Figurine- Kinarra's Hunt

Image
I'm sure we've all tried to make little shapes and people out of blue-tack and play-doe before and that's all the practice I'd had before making this figurine. I didn't think to research some advice because there seemed to be a logical way about it already, it's better for the brain to work out how to do things yourself. She's around 7 inches tall, took about ten hours to make from clay. I made the head first, then the limbless torso, I added her hair like a wig and used it to strengthen the connection between the head and torso. She has metal bars in her arms and legs which I used to strengthen them and keep them in the right place while they dried, the staff also has a rod in it, and was pretty hard to make, I was latter advised to use a real object for such things, I could have used a thicker rod or made on from wood, I'll keep that in mind next time. I based her on my little sister, more info about the project is on the design sheets at the bottom...

Abstract Sculptures- Bug Alien Forest

Image
All of these sculptures take inspiration from Insects, they're made of clay, were hollowed out during creation and painted with acrylics. The plastic look created by acrylic coating makes them seem less fragile, but they certainly aren't; on the 5th of June 2014, disaster struck. My sculptures where on a piece of paper on a window sill, that's really the stupidest thing to do with a new sculpture, I know, and it wasn't my idea, it was my tutors, but they blue tacked the paper down and said it would be fine. For whatever reason all was well until just as I was about to leave, when the storm outside forced the unlocked window to give way and everything flipped on the flaw! Yes, Stuff smashed and I had to spend the rest of my project sticking stuff back together, so I didn't have enough time to complete more than one page about Kinarra and Her Hunt for the jewel-eating-floating-alien-thing! Well All but one of my sculptures where saved. ---> The one to the right...

Water Colour Characters/Figures- Part 1

Image
(E.S) Eathelwolf, Rosetta and Kivi (From left to Right) drawn in the style of 'Gorillaz'.It was an interesting style and I thought I'd have a go at it. About Characters: Eathelwolf and Kivi where told to train Rosetta to master her Super-powers during 'The Last war' they got separated when their side lost; Rosetta fell into a coma after being shot three times and woke up in her homeland/ Rainland, which won the war (kind of). Eathelwolf escapes a P.O.W camp and scours the country for the refuge of Rosetta's home, but he can't stay because he's being hunted by pretty much everyone. Rosetta unites the her friends to so they can protect each other; igniting a resistance against the tyrannical government. Rosetta: Playful, enthusiastic, eccentric. (British Accent) Eathelwolf: Serious, Stubborn, Staunch. (American Accent)     Kivi: Naive, quiet, kind. (Russian Accent.)
