Tiger in Snake pit
Although not a very popular piece, this early water color Graphic from my high school days of 2012, was the first picture I drew after watching part of a documentary on Moebius; a Graphic artist I wouldn't fully be inspired by until the dawn of 2014 two years later. The thing that caught my eye was the originality of the composition, so I decided to create a more surrealist image with no logic. At the same time it tells a story of a man through into a snake pit as punishment, but he puts them under a trance so they can't attack him, like how a Tiger lulls it's pray with a growl. It's a symbolic representation of how one can be immune to torture, and the character shows a controlled approach to danger, he merely see it as misfortune and an inconvenience rather than something to panic about.
It was also a colour experiment, I used water colors, and although it pales in comparison to may later pieces, I still enjoy the concept and plan to expand on it as soon as I see fit. I also take inspiration from music, the specific song that I draw this too was Veisu, by Kotiteolisuus.
